Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors, contestants, judges & employees for an incredible inaugural BATTLE MUSUBI! Auto Body Hawaii is Sponsoring Vehicle Extrication Seminar
On March 13, Auto Body Hawaii conducted a free seminar exclusively for Hawaii County’s first responders and rescue workforce (fire, police, EMTs, etc.) This class will focus on the latest extrication techniques, vehicle safety, and other critical information on hybrids, air bags and new vehicle construction technology. Older vehicles currently used in training our first responders are not representative of the new types of high-strength steel and advanced construction technology that current-year model vehicles are manufactured from, and do not provide the critical learning awareness that is vital for our emergency personnel. Also, design features in today’s vehicles pose new and potentially dangerous challenges when extricating victims from an accident scene. These newer vehicles often have air bag curtains in roofs, pillars and other inconspicuous areas that if inadvertently severed, could be detrimental to rescuers and possibly the accident victims as well. Time is essential after an accident; victims should not be put potentially further into harm’s way when education is available to remove them more quickly and safely from a damaged vehicle. Auto Body Hawaii is working with national and local insurance companies to have late model vehicles donated for actual hands-on training. This complimentary training is not normally available here in Hawaii, so we feel very fortunate to offer our emergency personnel this latest information, training and invaluable experience. This event was made possible with the support of Kent Automotive & Toby Chess. Click HERE to read more. National Recycled Rides Vehicle Donation Program Extrication Seminar Click HERE to read more. On Wednesday November 26th Auto Body Hawaii donated a vehicle to Child & Family Service who has pre-selected a qualified precipitant. Auto Body Hawaii, along with shops across the country, recognizes this as a great way of giving back to the local community that supports them. We are excited to be able to provide valuable transportation to a family in need; we can put this car, and future cars, back safely on the road and into the hands of those who can really use them. This is what we do and where we live, we can’t think of a better way to welcome in the holidays and make a positive impact on those who need it most.

The Lokahi Project made a special presentation on the weekend of December 12 2009 on the Big Island. A Kona family of five, with one more on the way, received a big Christmas gift. Auto Body Hawaii in Kailua-Kona donated a 1998 Toyota Camry filled with items from the family's wish list. The family used to have a house cleaning and yard service business, but that took a hit with the economy. So now, Christian works as a food server, while his wife Roslyn stays at home to watch the kids. A big mahalo to Auto Body Hawaii for that generous donation.
